I am an artist of Polish descent working and living in SW Louisiana. This print is a reproduction of a wycinanki (vee-chee-non-key) papercutting, made in the Polish folk art tradition. It depicts flashy birds and the lovely violet thistles that appear in my part of the world in the springtime. It represents new beginnings, the thorny beauty of deep love, and a connection of spirits. This design is also available as a sticker and a tote bag.
